About

Nineteen years ago, Pastor John Baker of Saddleback Church, launched Celebrate Recovery with 45 people. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. Celebrate Recovery has helped thousands of people at Saddleback, attracting over 70% of its members from outside the church. Eighty-five percent of the people who go through the program stay with the church and nearly half serve as church volunteers.

The first ten years were the birth stages of Celebrate Recovery and now God is calling us to take it to the World. There are now thousands of groups around the world and growing with every year. We are part of a movement that is bringing hurt and broken people into the Church with the healing power of Jesus Christ.  We participate with Him, as He sets captives free from the spiritual bondage and the internal chaos that destroys lives.  Celebrate Recovery fosters the environment where we can experience freedom and healing found only through Jesus Christ.

If you want freedom from life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits we encourage you to check out Celebrate Recovery on Friday nights here at the Boise Vineyard.  This ministry seeks to celebrate God’s healing and redemptive power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles” on which Celebrate Recovery is based.  We invite you to join our community and experience change, allow God’s grace to help you solve life’s problems, and allow Him to release you from your addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors that have been holding you back from authentic joy in your life.

How to get involved?

Every Friday Night

Dinner – 6-6:45pm

A relaxing time of dining and fellowship where healthy relationships can be established, this prepares us for the work ahead. ($3 donation requested to offset costs.)

General Meeting – 7-8pm

We begin with worship, which softens and prepares our heart to hear from God.. Renewed faith can be experienced by listening to a short teaching.  We also share powerful, personal testimonies which reassure us that we are not alone in our battles.

Small Groups – 8-9pm

Breaking into male and female groups facilitated by leaders who have gone through similar hurts hang-ups or habits, we open up and share our experiences, struggles and strengths. Our leaders are not counselors and the participants do not attempt to “fix” one another. Support is offered in a safe environment for personal growth.

Small Group Guidelines:

1.  We keep our sharing focused on our own thoughts and feelings, limiting our sharing to 3-5 minutes.

2.  There is NO cross talk. (Cross talk is when two people engage in conversation excluding all others.) Each person is free to express his or her feelings without interruptions.

3.  We meet in small groups to support one another, and we don’t try to “fix” one another.

4.  Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others.

5.  Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.

Cafe Fellowship – 9-10pm

Coffee, Tea and dessert are the perfect way to end the evening. A relaxed environment where you can meet with sponsors, interact with new friends, plan for future activities and unwind from the hard work of recovery. ($1 donation for dessert.)
